Honeycomb Base Building Guide Hub
Base building hub for Honeycomb: The World Beyond — modular Art Nouveau habitats, the laboratory, drones, utilities, and Planning Mode, all in one place.
What does base building look like in Honeycomb?
Your base is both shelter and laboratory, and its design is deliberately organic: developer Frozen Way describes modular building pieces “inspired by natural shapes found in Art Nouveau.” Expect solar-powered habitats raised on stilts with wide windows, drones that assist construction, and a planning-friendly blueprint system that handles the busywork when you just want a functioning lab.
Utilities and the laboratory
A working base needs infrastructure. Confirmed pieces include water pumps and solar panels to supply the site, grow pods for plant experiments, and laboratory devices for analysing samples collected on expeditions. The lab is where the bioengineering loop lives: cultivate plants, experiment on samples, and research your way toward new species.
Where should you build first?
Official guidance is to find a water source, gather materials, and expand as your research grows. We are building placement guides, module breakdowns, and base-layout examples for each stage of progression — starting with the release build on September 8, 2026. Until then, details here are verified only against pre-release material.
