Earth Filoy in Honeycomb: The World Beyond — Pass Fruit Tree, Safe Raw

Where can you find Earth Filoy?

Along the clay-rich uplands and near the lakes of the Pass — Sota7’s extreme-risk, end-of-progression zone (orientation in the Sota7 zones guide). The Pass is small but dense, so “uplands and lakeshores” is less a hint than a near-complete map of the zone’s gentle spots — and in a zone this size, every food run happens among the resident fauna.

Why does a plain fruit tree matter in the hardest zone?

Because raw-safe food is scarce up here. The progression across zones makes the pattern obvious: the Valley hands you edible fruit (Sunbeam Lumus) from day one; the Headlands poisons its wetland crops raw (Green Naga, Ebony Linter); and the Pass prices everything. Earth Filoy is the exception the zone allows — per the official SOTA7 Field Survey Log #4, its juicy interior provides reliable nutrition and can be safely consumed raw. The survey’s framing: “in a region where consistency is critical, the Earth Filoy remains a dependable source of sustenance for extended operations.”

What does the fruit look and taste like?

  • Orange, plum-like fruit — the shape and color you are scanning for.
  • Soft rind — no processing barrier.
  • Sweet-sour profile — flavor notes straight from the survey entry.

How should you use it on a Pass expedition?

As your baseline sustenance, freeing the strategic slots for everything else. The Pass’s other headline plants are tradeoffs — the Prism Nut trades nutrition for induced thirst, and the Noon Nillow is ecology rather than provisions — so Earth Filoy is the stable middle of every meal plan. Route through uplands and lakeshores on arrival, top up hydration management alongside it, and let the riskier resources stay inventory rather than lunch. The full plant-by-zone progression lives on the flora hub.
